Itinerary Description

South Africa, the southernmost country on the African continent, is renowned for its varied topography, great natural beauty, and cultural diversity.  Start off in Johannesburg, the second largest city in Africa, with visits to Soweto Township and explore the precinct’s complex history.  Learn the local lingo, visit the Mandela Family Museum, and support the local vendors along the streets selling fruits, snacks, and ice lollies.  From Joburg, travel to Pilanesberg and stay at The Ivory Tree Lodge (a favorite of our groups) where you will go on Safaris and hopefully spot the big five! End the trip in Cape Town where you will have an up-close encounter with Penguins at Boulders Beach and visit the nearby wine region.
